Allie can't get enough

Allie can't get enough of her Daddy.  She loves this silly laugh that Justin makes to play with her.  She eats it up every time.  Lord have mercy I love her smile.

Reunion

Here are some pictures from our "reunion" class last night.  A few of us who were able got together last night for a little reunion after our babies were born.  We discussed similarities, sleep patterns, and most importantly birthing stories! Nurse Angela was so amazing and we love her so much.  Thanks again for everything, Angela!!!

Meet Finn.  He is 4 months old (breast fed only) and weighs 20 POUNDS!!!! He is a chunk and weighs every bit of 20 lbs.  We will see him playing pro ball one day.

Mommies little helper

Olivia does not want to miss anything.  She LOVES to be held ALL the time.  Not a good thing for mommy and daddy. We have tried to ween her from this and it's a work in progress.  Last night she was really wanting to be in the action and had not slept all day so she was ill and tired.  I decided to give in a little bit and instead of holding her I put on the baby bjorn carrier and she helped me wash bottles last night.  Both of the girls love the water so I thought this would excite her and satisfy her.  She LOVED it.  She was curious about the brush I was using so I gave her the little nipple sized brush and she held on to it while I washed bottles.  She looks so uncomfortable but loved every minute of it.

Allie was asleep and didn't feel like playing this time.  Every morning when they wake up they are ready to go and have a ball playing while I get ready for work.  It hurts me to leave when they are the having so much fun and I can't stay and play.

Last night was the first night that Olivia slept from 9:00 pm to 6:30 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's been sleeping all night (all night for us has been 9:30-4:00/4:30 am).  Praise the LORD!!!! We were so happy that she got her sleep in since she didn't sleep yesterday.  She is well rested and so are we.  Allie is still getting up between 1:00 and 2:00 for a bottle but Justin has been so sweet to get up with her so I can sleep.  What a great husband!!!

Bitter Sweet

Well, I started back to work this week.  People keep asking me if I'm sad to leave the babies or excited to get away.  The truth is it's bitter sweet.  I miss them so much during the day while I'm working but am relaxed at the same time because I get a break and I know that they are in wonderful hands!!

Today I left work early to take the girls to the doctor for their 8 week check-up and shots :-(.  The check-up went great.  They both weigh 11 lbs 4 oz and Allie is 23 1/4 inches and Olivia is 23 inches long.  They are growing so fast!  People really are right when they say that.  After Dr. Adams checked them out and said they look perfect and healthy the room seemed to close in.  The nurse walked in with her caddy of needles and band-aids.  I felt my heart stop for a minute.  We put each of the girls down and Olivia (being our drama queen of the two) went NUTS!!!!!! I have never seen a baby so upset and I could not stand it.  It broke my heart so bad and I have tears just thinking about it now.  Allie was up next and she got upset but not as bad as Ms. Drama Queen.  They both did fine and fell asleep on the way home from all of the excitement.

In this picture you can see their battle wounds with the brightly colored Tiger band-aids.  They both seemed to like the band-aids because of the bright color.  I'm not looking forward to our second round in November.  All of that aside the girls are doing great and are so happy!

We had an amazing milestone last Friday on my Daddy's 60th birthday.  We went home for his birthday party and on his birthday last Friday we were grilling out on the back porch.  Daddy and Whit were taking pictures of the girls and Allie did something we have been waiting for............................She LAUGHED and SMILED for the very first time ever!! Olivia has been doing this for about 2 weeks already but we were so excited to see Allie, too.  Whitney got some amazing pictures of them both smiling and laughing.  This may seem like a small thing to some but it was so exciting to us and a great birthday present for Daddy.
