Lately...........

Lately we have been very busy.  Here are a few snap shots of what we've been up to lately.
Allie tickled my Dad

The itsy bitsy spider.........

She made me do it, Mom!

Pay back! Ha Ha Ha

Look what I can do, Mom!

So, I'm confused.  Can I leave the mat?

Olivia loves to play with the bumper pads instead of nap.  Needless to say they no longer are in the crib.

Allie trying to figure out the next clue during the MMC.

Olivia ate all her beans.  She hasn't missed many meals.

Too early for pictures, Mom.

She wanted to eat the laundry instead of fold it

Let's get busy.

A First

This weekend was the first time that I have not been with my babies since I found out I was pregnant.  Though I missed them uncontrolably, the mini vacation was nice.  My dear friend Amy is getting married next weekend and we went to New Orleans for her bachelorette trip.  My Mom and step dad live in Biloxi and Justin had to work, so I loaded the girls up and head to Mimi and Pop Diddy's house.  I left the "Itinerary" for the girls and every possible emergency number that I could think of.  I'm very OCD and WAY over protective.  I said my good byes to my angels and forced myself out of the door.  They were in very good hands.  I had to stop myself from calling every five minutes.  I did, however, request pictures via picture messaging from Mom.  So, here is a picture of the girls chilling in Biloxi.  If you cannot read their shirts, they say "Does this diaper make my butt look big?"  My Mom found these when the girls were itty bitty and I have been waiting forever to put the girls in them.  Hilarious.
Allie got cut off a little.  Their house quickly became a play ground just like ours.

Six Months and Growing

I have to admit, I cry a little bit when I look at pictures of my beautiful babies or talk about them to people.  The girls turned 6 months old on Friday, January 7, 2011 and it just about made me sick.  Allie is such a sweet and loving baby.  She loves to snuggle and laugh.  Her face will make your heart melt.  She is sitting up so well and has the absolute best posture.  She is trying to figure out how to crawl by doing her inch worm impression.  Olivia is so funny and a joy to watch explore.  She is starting to crawl and wants to stand up so bad she can taste it.

Allie in the nursery last night.  I love her bib.  She is constantly mistaken for a boy and we wanted to put a stop to it.  I wish you could see how straight she is sitting up.

Olivia in the nursery last night trying to crawl.  She went from one side of the room to the other in less than a couple of minutes.  I can see that we are going to get much busier.

We went to the doctor today for their 6 month check up and shots.  Here are their latest stats:

Allie
Weight 19 2.5 lbs      96th Percentile
Height 27 inches        83rd  Percentile
Head 42 cm

Olivia
Weight 20lbs             96th  Percentile
Height 28 inches        96th Percentile
Head  41cm
I cannot believe how big they are getting.  When people ask how old the girls are and I tell them, their eyes get huge and say "Really, they're so big."  My reply is, "They're juicy and healthy."  I did ask the doctor today about their weight and if they need to cut back on the "snacks."  He said that they are perfect and not to change  their diet, in fact they may could eat more since they are so active.  I told him no, they eat plenty! LOL.  All in all our girls are healthy and growing great.

An Amazing Story

I came across this blog about 4 or 5 months ago and am addicted to it now.  I read it everyday and look forward to reading it everyday.  If you have a chance, please read this amazing story of a little girl born with D.S. (down syndrome).  It will move you.

This is a link to help raise money for D.S. awareness.  Please consider donating.  I am a huge advocate for D.S. and believe in this purpose.  The woman who writes the blog above is driving this fundraiser and any contribution in any amount would be awesome!!!

A Little of This and A Little of That

So, as I have mentioned before, the girls are obsessed with the MMC (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).  As young as they are they recognize everything about this show.  They recognize everything from the sound of Mickey Mouse to the Hot Dog Dance.  Justin, Maryann, and I are professionals at this by now.  At the beginning of each show Mickey and the clubhouse members present a task for the day/episode and they get help from their trusty helper called Tootles (I have no idea if that is spelled correctly).  Tootles helps figure out the task with different items and a special item that is used last called the Mystery Mouse-ka-tool (again, I have no idea if that is spelled correctly).  I'm explaining this to you for  a reason.  When Mickey and the gang introduce the tools for the day they always get to the last ka-tool and this is the Mystery one.  Allie and Olivia LOVE this one.  I don't know why.  I don't know if it's because of the funny shape of the question mark or the way they introduce it, but man do they love it.  Here is a picture I snapped yesterday morning.  I'm a dork, I know.

The Mystery Mouse-ka-tool

Allie passed out after her breakfast while we were out to eat.  She was full and happy.

Allie and Olivia with their formula cans.  I decided to get a little creative and put some items (safe) in the cans and let the girls jam out.  They love these more than their other toys.  I should have done this a long time ago.  We would have saved a ton of money of toys.

My cousin Brandi had her second baby boy this past week and here he is! Mayson is his name and Big brother is Brody.  I could squeeze him all day.  Congratulations to Shane and Brandi!!!!! We love ya'll.

Catch Up

I decided to take a break from posting for a few weeks and spend the much needed quality time with my girls.  There isn't much to say about the past two weeks so I will sum it up in a few words............................... absolute bliss.

I never thought that I would be at a point in my life where I was so happy.  Don't get me wrong, the day I met and then married Justin was the happiest day of my life, but having children is a whole new level of happiness.  WOW, I can't believe they will be 6 months old this week.  Last night I was playing with the girls on our home made pallet in the living room while Justin laid on the couch watching us.  The girls were not in the best mood due to not napping very well that day.  Even though they were exhausted they were so much fun.  Believe it or not, I didn't want to put them to bed.  I was having fun.  Here are a few new updates with the girls:

Allie.......
  • Loves her feet.  She can put both in her mouth at the same time.
  • Loves to laugh and smile
  • Can't get enough of her excersaucer
  • Is mesmerized by Ava
  • Has found her tongue
  • Rolls over in the middle of the night and will talk/scream to be turned over.  She can do it by herself, she just chooses not to.
  • Gives me a bath while she takes a bath.  She loves to splash water.
Olivia.......
  • Loves to be held up and turned over.
  • Talks while eating
  • Blows bubbles while eating (this is very frustrating)
  • Is obsessed with any animal
  • Loves to stand and take steps.  She's getting pretty good (oh Lord!)
  • Is doing a funny inch worm crawl
Below is the past two weeks.  Enjoy!!
