Well, as most of you know by now our game plan has changed from our last doctor's visit. Yesterday we went for an ultrasound before the regular check-up. The ultrasound revealed some awesome things. Here is a list:
1. Both girls are weighing in at the exact same weight, which is 3 lbs, 11 oz. I have been freaking out about their weight for the past two weeks and started crying when I heard the tetechnician say this. They have gained over a pound each in the past two weeks.
2. Both girls heart rates are exactly the same at 137 beats per minute
3. Both girls have hair on their beautiful heads in the exact same spots. They don't have a lot of it of course, but it is some hair ;-)
4. Baby B decided to show her face to us for the very first time and we were able to see her give us a BIG yawn!!!
5. Baby A would not give us any of her signature poses like she normally does, but that's okay.
We still do not know if they are identical, though.
After our ultrasound, we saw Dr. G. I am measuring 38 weeks, but am 32 weeks. He checked me to see if I am dilated any and I'm not. He then tells us that since the babies have changed so much, I may not even need a c-section and that I can have them the "old-fashion" way if I want to. He said that is completely my decision and to let him know what we decide at our next visit. He also said that since the babies are doing so well, as am I, I should be able to go through the rest of the pregnancy, which is 6 MORE WEEKS!! Not 2 like he had originally thought. I'm so happy and so blessed that our babies are perfect and everything is moving so well, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed because I was looking forward to meeting them in 2 weeks.
The good news is that:
A.) The babies will have more time to grow and develop
B.) They will be healthier
C.) I get to be in Lee's wedding in 2 weeks!!
And one more thing. I decided to stay at home the rest of the school year (which is only this week that is left) and relax........ NO STRESS!! No stress is right, but cabin fever is starting to set in. A friend told me today that I better enjoy relaxing because that word will no longer be in my vocabulary from the time the twins get here. I love her and hate her at the same time!! LOL
