Is it Time?

Well, we went to the doctor today for yet another check up.  I am 28 weeks but am measuring 35 weeks.  WOW!!  The thing is, I don't feel that big and don't look that big (says everyone around me).  The doctor says everything is perfect with the babies, as well as with me.  The only thing that worries him is that I will have pre-term labor.  So far so good, though.  The babies are weighing in at 2 1/2- 3 lbs a piece.  As we were at the front desk making our final appointments I had my calendar out.  I started writing down appointments as the nurse called them out and realized...........is it time?  Are Allie and Olivia really going to be here in 8 weeks?  Doctor G is still saying that I won't go past 35 weeks (the week of June 15th), which isn't bad, even though my original due date is July 20th.  I am praying that at least make it to my best friends wedding on June 5th.  The babies are getting so big that they are running out of room and I think they are ill.  Please pray that everything continues to go well and I can make it to my BFF's wedding.  LOL!!!!

A Different Generation

Today during home room, I had to give out a questionnaire on alcohol, drugs, etc. (These are 6th graders)  Each student received a questionnaire. While I was walking around making sure the students understood all of the questions (and I have to be honest, some of the questions were about specific drugs and I had NO clue what some of them were), one of my students asked me what he was. I was unclear of what he meant. I walked over to him and he was filling out the demographic portion of the form. He said to me, "Mrs. Armstrong, do I put Native American?" I explained to him what it was and told him he should bubble in African American. He looked at me and said, "Mrs. Armstrong I’m not from Africa. Why do they call us that?" When I tried to explain why, he did not like my answer and he said, "those people be trippin."  Bless his heart!!

OH BABY!!

My wonderful friends from back home threw myself, Olivia, and Allie a baby shower Easter weekend.  Here are some of the pictures that captured the moments.  We had a great time catching up and spending time together.  I miss them so much.  Thank you ladies for everything that you did and continue to do!!

Me, Lee J., and Lori H. (the trio) at Lee's bridal shower earlier that day.

Me, Whitney, and Mom (Mimi)

The more and more I see pictures of the 3 of us, I see how I look more like my mother.  It has taken years for me to see how Whit and I favor and I see it even more now than ever.

What hot Grandma's!!!!

I realize my face is covered (i'm glad), but are these bloomers not the most adorable things?  A dear friend, Heather, had these made along with matching burp cloths.  I cried at the first site of these.

Good News!

Great NEWS!!  Daddy's results came back and everything is clear!! The doctor said that he had less than 10% blockage  witht he heart of an 18 year old.  Thank goodness.

Justin and I went to our first Parenting/Lamaze class last night.  What an experience.  First of all I made the mistake of drinking sweet tea (a craving of mine along with snow cones) before we went.  The girls were kicking so hard and so much that I could hardly sit still.  Nurse Andrea is AWESOME!! She is goofy but very on top of her game.  The class went great and we learned some new things and met soon to be first time parents, as well.  The funniest part of the entire night was when Nurse Andrea put all of the "support persons" (there is a WIDE variety of people in thei class--I'll be postin about them later) names in a hat and drew one name to see who would wear the infamous "Empathy Belly."  Well, of course Justin's name was the first to be drawn.  I loved every minute of it and he was such a good sport about it.  He had to wear it for the last hour of the class.  About 30 minutes before class was over he looked over at me and said "this thing is making me have to go to the bathroom."  I just laughed.  I asked Nurse Andrea if he could take it home and sleep with it just for 1 night.  She wouldn't let us.  Below is a picture of Justin and "The Empathy Belly."  I am so looking forward to the upcoming classes.  ENJOY!
